Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about our geotechnical and civil engineering services across Sydney and NSW.

What services does Integra Consultants provide?
Integra Consultants is a civil and geotechnical engineering consultancy. We provide site investigation, soil testing, foundation design, shoring and retaining wall design, slope stability analysis, pavement design and engineering assessments for projects across Sydney and NSW.
What is a geotechnical report and why do I need one?
A geotechnical report describes the soil, rock and groundwater conditions on your site and gives recommendations for foundations, excavation and earthworks. It helps reduce risk, avoid unexpected costs and is often required by councils and certifiers before approval.
Do you provide Specialist Engineering Assessments (SEA) for Sydney Water assets?
Yes. We prepare Specialist Engineering Assessments for Sydney Water assets and hold relevant Sydney Water accreditations. We guide your project through the assessment process so that approvals are achieved on schedule.
How much does a geotechnical investigation cost?
The cost depends on site size, access, ground conditions, the number of boreholes or tests and the level of reporting required. Contact us with your project details and we will provide a clear, competitive quote.
How long does it take to receive a geotechnical report?
Timeframes vary with project complexity and site access. Once fieldwork and laboratory testing are complete, most reports are delivered promptly. We communicate the expected timeline upfront so that your programme is not delayed.
Which types of projects do you work on?
We work on residential, commercial and infrastructure projects, from single dwellings and townhouses to multi-storey buildings, deep excavations, roads and large developments. We also support councils, contractors and asset owners.
Do you design retaining walls, shoring and deep excavations?
Yes. Our team designs retaining walls, temporary and permanent shoring, dewatering and deep excavation support systems, using advanced 2D and 3D finite element analysis where required for safe and cost-effective solutions.
What is Design Certification under the DBP Act 2020?
The Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 requires registered practitioners to declare and certify designs for certain building work in NSW. Integra Consultants provides design certification so that your project meets compliance requirements.
Can you help with ground improvement and slope stability issues?
Absolutely. We assess slope stability and earthquake risk and design ground improvement solutions for soft or problematic soils. Through our collaboration with MESO Solutions, we connect design with practical delivery.
